Charles V. “Chuck Dizzle” Cornish, age 59 of Battle Creek, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday evening, March 12, 2024 at Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids.  He was born in Coldwater, Michigan on November 13, 1964, the son of Charles and Judy (Speer) Cornish.  Chuck faithfully served his country as a member of the United States Navy. He retired from Denso and previously worked at Musashi Auto and the Coldwater Bakery.  

Charles is survived by his loving companion, Sherry Olmstead; his daughters, Ashley Cornish, Alyssa (Bryan)Yearty, Aimee Cornish, and Hannah Cornish; his mother, Judy (Ken) VanCamp; six grandchildren & one on way; his sister, Wendy (Mark) Thompson; and his dog, “Uno”.  He was preceded in death in by his father, Charles on  August 18, 1996.

Chuck was a member of the SSG Michael A. Dickinson II. American Legion Post# 257, Planet Fitness, YMCA, and Northside Training Systems.  He truly enjoyed riding his Harleys, going to the gym & body building, going to concerts & listening to music, especially if it was loud, playing & watching hockey, especially the K-Wings and Red Wings, grilling, playing the guitar and shooting guns with his nephew, Ryan.  Chuck’s greatest love was his family and he truly cherished spending time with his family, friends, and of course his dog “Uno”. 

The family will receive friends 3:00 to 5:00 p.m., Sunday, March 17th at Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Cremation Preneed Care, Battle Creek where funeral services to celebrate “Chuck Dizzle’s” life will be held 11:00 a.m., Monday, March 18th.  Inurnment with full military honors will be held 2:30 p.m., March 19th at the Fort Custer National Cemetery.  Chuck benefited from a heart transplant and the family therefore asks that in lieu of flowers, memorials be directed to the American Heart Association (www.heart.org) or the Lung & Heart Transplant Foundation (https://www.lungheart.org/).  Personal messages for the family and favorite “Chuck Dizzle” memories may be placed here at www.farleyestesdowdle.com.
