Charles "Chuck" Crail

Charles "Chuck" Crail, age 78, of Battle Creek, passed away in Haines City, Florida on February 2, 2022. He was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota and at five years old, his family moved to Battle Creek, Michigan.

Chuck was employed in the maintenance department at Transamerica until he went to work for the Kellogg Co. in 1963, and retired from there in 1996. While working at the Kellogg Co., he was called by Uncle Sam in the early 60's and served as a Green Beret in the Army, receiving a Purple Heart for his service.

Chuck attended Overflow Church and loved the people there. He enjoyed fishing, camping & family gatherings. Chuck also enjoyed spending the winters in Haines City, Florida with his wife. He loved it there and made many friends.

Chuck was preceded in death by father, Donald Crail and his mother, Marion (Crail) DeVault. He is survived by his wife, Jacqueline "Jackie" (Rude) Crail; his brothers, George Crail and Fred (Linda) Crail; step-children, Gordon (Jeanne) Rude, Donald (Cindy) Rude, Rick (Jewell) Rude, Scott (Kim) Rude; and many step- grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.

A memorial service to celebrate Chuck's life will be held 11:00 a.m., Saturday, April 9, 2022 at Overflow Church, 3515 West Michigan Ave., Battle Creek, MI 49037. Interment with full military honors will be held 11:30 a.m., Friday, May 6, 2022 at Fort Custer National Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Overflow Church.
