Mr. Charles “Doc Beatty” LeBlanc passed away unexpectedly on July 31, 2023. He was born on October 20, 1946, to Lillian Bradley-Horton and Alvin LeBlanc in New Orleans, LA at Charity Hospital. He was reared by his grandmother Alma Bradley in Fayette, MS before relocating to Pontiac, MI at the age of 13 with his uncle Tommie Bradley. Later, Charles relocated to Battle Creek, MI where he met and fell in love with Vernail (Williams) LeBlanc, married in Sept, 1973.
Charles attended Northwestern Middle School and then onto Battle Creek Central High School where he graduated in 1966. He worked several jobs throughout his life, Dodge Car Dealership, VA Medical Center, then finishing his working years starting in 1975 at the Albion Malleable Iron Company (aka Harvard Industries) with 27 years of service before retiring in 2002.
Charles loved playing bingo every Saturday and you could catch him on the fishing bank at the crack of dawn. He also loved watching his great granddaughter Nasz play soccer every Saturday. Charles was a member of Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church where he sang in the church choir and male chorus.
Charles loved to sit back with a cold beer and watch football. He also enjoyed helping our family when they needed him the most. He loved everyone unconditionally and everyone loved him and his personality. He had a huge heart, kind, and dependable. If you needed a ride, he would always get you there and back no matter the day/time without hesitation, even if tired.
Charles had a very special bond with his granddaughter, Nana (Chardre’). Their bond was unbreakable, and you could not tell him anything wrong when it came to her. He was not just a grandfather to his grandkids, but he was a great father to them.
