Charles E. "Charlie" Mack, 80, of Battle Creek, died suddenly April 6, 2017 in Dayton, TN while vacationing with family. He was born in Battle Creek June 27, 1936 the son of Lloyd and Louise (Chard) Mack. He was a 1954 graduate of White Pigeon High School. He was a 30-year employee of the Kellogg Company, retiring in 1995 as a trainer, but spent most of his career as head operator in packing.
Charles was united in marriage to the former Nancy L. Moch on July 7, 1973 in Trinity Lutheran Church. In addition to his wife Nancy, Charles is survived by his children; Chris (Teresa) Miller of Bellevue, MI, Sherri (Tom) Sprau of Battle Creek, MI, Chuck Mack of Marshall, MI, Sharon Mack of Williamsport, PA, Rick (Florinda) Mack of Tekonsha, MI, and Jon (Jessie) Mack of Tekonsha, MI; 12 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; his brother, Louis (Betty) Mack of Cassopolis, MI; sister, Shirley Heuer of Litchfield, MI. He was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers, Lyle and Robert Mack.
Charles was a kind, gentle hearted, and hard-working man who was devoted to his family. He loved nothing more than spending time with his many grandchildren and great-grandchildren by attending their many activities and family gatherings. He was an avid Detroit Tigers fan, nature lover, and John Deere tractor enthusiast. One of his favorite activities was taking his beloved dog Zoey for walks through the neighborhood so he could chat with all his neighbors. Charles was a member of the Kellogg 25 Year Club.
A memorial visitation will be held on Friday, April 14, 2017 from 4-7p.m. at the Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care, 105 Capital Avenue, N.E., Battle Creek. Interment of cremains, at a later date, will be at Memorial Park Cemetery.
