Charles "Chuck" Philp, age 80, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, December 3, 2022.
Chuck was born on December 31, 1941 in Battle Creek to Palmer and Pearl (Covert) Philp. He graduated from Battle Creek Central High School, then married the love of his life, Sharon. They celebrated 61 wonderful years together. When his country called, Chuck went to Vietnam. Chuck enjoyed singing, going for rides, telling jokes, watching sunsets with his wife and found joy showing people his love for the Lord.
Chuck is survived by his wife, Sharon (Gossett) Philp; children, Louise (Rusty) Taylor and Charlie (Valerie) Philp; grandchildren, Amanda Philp, Zachary Taylor, Ben Taylor, Charles Philp III, Lance Philp, and great-grandchildren, Saul, Kari, Kira, Elliot and Kai.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his big brother, Palmer "Sandy" Philp, his grandson, Mitchell Taylor and step-brother, Larry Brown.

Chuck's family will receive friends for visitation on Wednesday, December 7, 2022 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care, where a funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 8, 2022 at 12:00 Noon with full military honors and burial to follow at Fort Custer National Cemetery.
