Charles Clark "Chuck" Womack

August 22, 1940 — July 9, 2015

Charles Clark "Chuck" Womack, 74 of Battle Creek died at Amber Estates Assisted living on Thursday, July 9, 2015. Charles was born August 22, 1940 in Pikeville, Tennessee to Charles William and Willett (Hancock) Womack. In 1941, he came to Battle Creek with his family and was a 1959 graduate of Battle Creek Central High
School. Charles was employed for 30 years at the Kellogg Company and retired from the processing department in 1995.

Chuck was united in marriage to the former Kathleen Ellen Abbott on June 6, 1959, in Battle Creek. Sadly Charles was preceded in death by his wife, Kathleen on January 16, 2014. Surviving are two sons, Charles T. Womack (Tina) of Clio, MI, Scott Womack of Battle Creek; one daughter, Shannon Cook of Battle Creek,; nine grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; a sister, Mildred Farmer of Pikeville, TN. In addition to his wife, Charles was also preceded in death by three sisters, Mamie Rothwell, Ethel Kipp and Mary Hill and one brother, Raymond Womack.

Chuck was a member of the Kellogg 25 Year Club. He owned and operated Womack's Thoroughbred Farm, where he bred, raised and trained Thoroughbred Horses. He was a member of the Thoroughbred Breeders & Owners
Association. In his early years, Chuck enjoyed playing fast pitch softball and coaching his son's baseball teams. He also enjoyed the outdoors including hunting deer and pheasants. Charles loved being with his family and friends.

Visitation will be held 2:00 – 3:00pm. Saturday, July 18, 2015 at Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care, where memorial services for both Charles and his wife, Kathleen will be held at 3:00p.m. following the visitation.
