Cheryl Sue Scheick

Cheryl Sue Scheick, 69, of Ceresco, Michigan was stricken at home and died unexpectedly at home on Wednesday, July 1, 2026.

Cheryl was born October 2, 1956, in Marshall, Michigan, the daughter of Kenneth Lewis and Gertrude Edith (Baker) Scheick. She grew up in Ceresco and was a 1974 graduate of Harper Creek High School. She graduated from Argubright Business College and was employed doing bookkeeping and accounting the majority of her life, retiring from Walters Dimmick Petroleum Company in 2025. Previously Cheryl was employed at Waste Management Company, Battle Creek Tobacco and Candy Company, Pine Knoll, Marshall Lanes, The Rafters, and FireKeepers Casino Hotel as a cashier.

Surviving are three brothers, Steven R. Scheick of Portage, Richard K. Scheick of Ceresco, Michael J. (Renee M. Cole) Scheick of Battle Creek; a sister-in-law, Dolly Scheick of Reynoldsburg, OH; ten nieces and nephews and their families. Cheryl was preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth and Gertrude; three brothers, Infant brother, Baby Scheick, Terry L. Scheick and Lewis F. Scheick; and sisters-in-law Sheila Scheick and Pamela Scheick.

Cheryl loved to shop and the Amazon and UPS drivers knew her well. She enjoyed collecting things with Pepe la Pew on them. She enjoyed reading, especially romance novels. Cheryl also enjoyed trips to the FireKeepers Casino and loved her cats. She was a wonderful, loving aunt, had a heart of gold and treated all her nieces and nephews and their families like her own children.

Friends will be received 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 8, 2026, at Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Cremation Preneed Care for a gathering to celebrate and acknowledge Cheryl’s life.

She will be interred at DuBois Cemetery on the family plot, near her parents, grandparents and two brothers.
