Chong Im (Pak) Newhouse

Chong Im (Pak) Newhouse, 78, formerly of Richland, passed away Wednesday, July 1, 2026.

Chong was born September 11, 1947 in Seoul, South Korea. She was united in marriage to Larry P. Newhouse in Korea on December 3, 1970, who preceded her in death. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, social interaction and her love of Jesus and her family.

She will be remembered for her willingness to give to others and her pushing her family members to always strive to do their best/aim high.

Chong is survived by her daughter, Judy (Jonathan) Pak; son, Donald (Alicia) Newhouse; grandchildren, Hannah Pak, Christian Pak and Orion Newhouse.

A funeral service to celebrate her life will be held Friday, July 10 at 3:00 p.m. at Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Cremation Preneed Care, Richland Chapel, where family will receive friends an hour prior. Interment will follow at Prairie Home Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the American Cancer Society.
