Christina Lynne "Chris" (Quada) "O'Connell

Christina Lynne (Quada) "Chris" O'Connell of St. Johns, MI, and formerly of Battle Creek and Marshall, MI, died Tuesday afternoon, October 10, 2017 at her residence and with her loving family at her side. She was born in Marshall, MI on January 18, 1949, the daughter of John H. and Marjorie J. (Cooley) Quada. Chris graduated from Battle Creek Central High School in 1967 and furthered her education at Kellogg Community College. Throughout the years Chris served in various capacities with Bill Knapp's in Battle Creek, MI, MGM Grand in Reno, NV, Speedway in Saint John's, MI and currently served as CFO for O'Connell Recruiting.

Chris was united in marriage to Peter N. O'Connell at St. Philip Catholic Church in Battle Creek on July 12, 1968; he survives. Also surviving are her daughter, Kristi Grey; son, John P. (Tammy) O'Connell; grandchildren, Shannon O'Connell, Brenna O'Connell, Arnold Gray; great-grandchildren, Landon and Alexis; and siblings, Jeff (Mari) Quada, Cindy (Doug) Milburn, Cheryl Wood, Bruce (Pam) Quada, Brian (Lynne) Quada, Mark (Lauree) Quada, Carol (Richard) Aukerman, Doug (Kathy) Quada, and Connie (Chris) McCowey. Chris was sadly preceded in death by her parents, John and Marjorie Quada.

The Funeral Liturgy to celebrate Chris' life will be held on Saturday, October 14th at 11:00 a.m. at the Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care, Battle Creek with Deacon Al Patrick of St. Philip Catholic Church, officiating. Chris' family will greet friends on Friday, October 13th from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Chris' honor may be directed to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or the American Heart Association.
