Christine Anne (Goodacre) "Chris" Murdock

Christine Anne “Chris” (Goodacre) Murdock, 71, of Battle Creek died Thursday, May 21, 2026, at Vibrant Life Senior Living.

Chris was born February 11, 1955, in Battle Creek, Michigan the daughter of George and Stella (Opich) Goodacre. She grew up in Battle Creek and was a 1973 graduate of Pennfield High School. Chris was employed in the Inspection Department at Tokai Rika Battle Creek until her well-deserved retirement a few years ago.

Chris was formerly married to David Murdock, who is now deceased, and was in a long-term relationship with Harry Inman. Surviving is her daughter, Janine Amber (Catherine) Murdock of Hickory Corners, MI. Chris was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Jason Andrew Murdock; and a brother, Mark Goodacre.

Chris loved cats and her clothes were adorned with nearly as many cats as she had in life. She enjoyed an occasional trip to the casino. Chris also loved reading, especially murder mysteries and true crime. She will be remembered as an excellent mother and a true friend.

A gathering to celebrate Chris’ life will be held from 10:00 a.m. until 12 :00 noon on Saturday, June 6th , 2026 at Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Cremation Preneed Care
