Christopher J. Inman age 64, known to friends and family as Chris, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, January 18th. A long-time resident of Augusta, Chris was born on October 8th, 1957 in Kalamazoo, Michigan; the loving son of Lyle and Rosemond "Rosie" (Butler) Inman. Chris graduated from Gull Lake High School in the class of 1975 and went on to have a long career as a press operator with Vista printing, Double Days, and Ultra-forms. Chris also owned and operated Art of Tattoos in Portage with his family for several years.
Chris married Penny S. Shroyer on March 17, 1978. Christopher is survived by his loving wife, their two children, Samantha (Inman) Ruddock and Nicole Inman, his son-in-law and friend Ben Ruddock, as well as his three grandchildren, Keira Evans, Aiden Ruddock, and Daimien Ruddock. Chris was preceded in death by his parents, Lyle and Rosie Inman.
With his white hair and beard, Chris was often mistaken for Santa, which he found joy and humor in during the holidays. He truly loved spending time with his family and friends, often discussing classic cars or his latest handyman projects like renovating an entire home with Nicole and Penny, or working on family vehicles with Samantha and Ben. A music enthusiast, Chris enjoyed finding hidden gems in the vinyl bins at any yard sale or antique show. He also very much enjoyed collecting Hot Wheels cars and racing them with his grandchildren even more so.
