Cindy Lee Mcdonald Evans

January 22, 1958 — September 25, 2021

Cindy Lee McDonald Evans, 63 of Battle Creek, Michigan died at home, with her family and friends at her side on Saturday, September 25, 2021.

Cindy was born January 22, 1958 in Battle Creek, Michigan the daughter of Oliver Lowell and Margaret Marie (Wildie) McDonald. Other than a short stay in Alaska, Battle Creek has been Cindy's home. She was a 1976 graduate of Springfield High School. She also received a degree as a Physical Therapy Assistant at Kellogg Community College. Cindy was first employed at Capital Florist and gifts for two years. She was employed at Meijer Grocery for seven years. From 1993 until 2001, she was confined to a wheelchair after an automobile accident. She later worked at Family Fare.

Cindy was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Steven Lowell McDonald. Surviving are three sisters, Linda (Mike) Jones of Everett, WA, Brenda (Bob) Soeters of Holland, Connie (Todd) Benjamin of Hastings; numerous nieces and nephews; and her furry, intelligent beloved companion, Chance.

Beginning with classes in floral design, horticulture and botany at Calhoun County Vocational Center, Cindy had a lifelong love of God's creations. She loved working in her flower beds. She enjoyed all kinds of crafts, hand painted crafts, Christmas decorations, candles and peacock feather designs, just to name a few. She obtained the peacock feather from peacocks living on her property. She also raised miniature deer. Cindy displayed her wares at craft shows for over 40 years. As a bartender at the F.O.P., she befriended many senior citizens, opened her big-heart to them and making their lives better. Everyone was family to Cindy, they meant everything to her. During her illness, people have helped her with meals, companionship and became part of her extended family. Cindy had a very strong belief in God. She put her life in God's hands numerous times and felt His presence in return.
