Claude L. Williams, 88, of Battle Creek, died November 29, 2018. Claude was born February 9, 1930 in LaPryor, TX to Buckner and Lillie (Ashley) Williams. Claude graduated from Edison High School and went to San Antonio College. He served his country honorably in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. Claude worked at the Kelly Air Force Base in San Antonio, TX, the Federal Center and for Regional Lab.
Claude was a member of the Balsa Bees, Calvary Baptist Church and Richmond Ave. Baptist Church in Texas and taught Sunday School. He was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan, loved listening to airplane departures/arrivals and built a multitude of airplane models.
Claude is survived by his two sons, Rick (Teresa) Williams and Michael Williams; three grandchildren, Rick Williams, Josh Williams and Tyler Williams and two great-grandchildren, Sage and Jade Williams. Claude was preceded in death by his wife, Billie Jo Williams, three brothers and one sister.
The family will receive friends Monday, December 3, 2018 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care, where funeral services to celebrate Claude's life will be 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, officiated by Rev. Thomas C. Townsend. Interment with full military honors will follow at Fort Custer National Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Calvary Baptist Church or the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation.
