Clyde Leroy Whipple

Clyde Leroy Whipple Jr., age 74, of Augusta died Friday morning, December 16, 2016 at Borgess Hospital in Kalamazoo. He was born in Battle Creek on March 11, 1942, the son of Clyde F. and Edna (Morris) Whipple. Clyde worked on the family farm in Augusta for many years. A true outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting, farming, and taking care of animals.

Clyde is survived by his children, Penny Deboer of Kansas, Lorraine "Lori" Baker of Hastings, Richard (Stephanie) Whipple of Germany, and Jack Whipple of Augusta; 6 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; 2 brothers, William (Joy) Whipple and Fred Whipple, both of Augusta, and a sister, Ruthie Whipple of Augusta. He was sadly preceded in death by his parents; a grandson, Kenny Baker II.; a sister, Charlotte, and a brother, George.

Cremation has taken place and a memorial gathering to celebrate Clyde's life will be held at the family home in Augusta at a later date.
