Connie S. (Newcomer) Rinaldo

Connie S. (Newcomer) Rinaldo, 65, of Battle Creek died at home on Monday, April 6, 2015, after a courageous battle with cancer, in the loving care of her husband, family and Bronson at Home Hospice Care.

Connie was born May 21, 1949 in South Bend, Indiana to Richard D. and Eris E. (Hay) Newcomer. She grew up in South Bend, was a 1967 graduate of John Adams High School and attended classes at Kellogg Community College while employed. Connie was employed with the Department of Defense at the Battle Creek Federal Center, retiring as a general supply specialist in 2007.

Connie married Antonio Rinaldo on August 30, 1969 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in South Bend. Surviving are Tony, her husband of 45+ years; two sons, Pasquale A. (Amy) Rinaldo of Bloomfield, Michigan, Richard J. (Christie) Rinaldo of Battle Creek; four grandchildren, Gabriella, Elisia, Remington and Raphael; and a brother, Kevin Newcomer of Toledo, OH. Connie was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Richard and Johnny and two sisters, Sandra Smith and Linda Nuckles.

Connie was a member of St. Philip Catholic Church, where she was a Eucharistic Minister. She enjoyed reading and loved spending time with her family.

Friends will be received 5:00-7:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Farley-Estes & Dowdle Funeral Home, where the Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be concelebrated by Fr. John D. Fleckenstein and Fr. Francis A. Marotti at St. Philip Catholic Church 10:00 a.m. Thursday, April 9, 2015.
