Cordelia "Dee" Winer, 83, a longtime resident of the Urbandale area of Battle Creek, died at Pennfield Premier Living on Thanksgiving Day, November 26, 2015.
Cordelia was born June 6, 1932 in Corinth, Mississippi. She worked briefly at the Former Rexall Drug store on North Washington and at E.P.I. While working at Rexall, she met William H. "Bill" Winer, whom she married on July 31, 1961. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill on January 8, 1999; her step-son, Scott H. Winer on February 4, 2005; and by 12 birth and adopted siblings. Surviving are step-daughters Shelley (David) Steinmiller of Portage and Jan (Ron) McLeod of Battle Creek; daughter Gina Bunch and son Jerry (Peggy) Stacy, both of Battle Creek; a daughter-in-law, Cathy Winer of Battle Creek; ten grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins and their families.
Dee was a longtime member of Bible Baptist Church in Augusta. She enjoyed reading, her dogs and pets, feeding the humming birds and had a green thumb for house plants. She will be remembered as a lover of small children, caring for all the little ones and her family.
Friends will be received 6:00-8:00 p.m. Monday at the Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care, where funeral services will be officiated by Rev. Don Ibbotson at 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, December 1, 2015. Interment will follow at Hickory Corners Cemetery.
