Elwyn, age 76, died Thursday afternoon, July 7, 2016 at Bronson Methodist Hospital, Kalamazoo, MI

Elwyn, the son of LeRoy E. and Bettie Lou (Bloodworth) Mandeville was born in Miami, FL on July 9, 1939. He lived in Miami until he was 9 and then moved to Dorr, Michigan. Elwyn was a 1957 graduate of Wayland High School. He continued his education at Kendall School of Design and received a Bachelor's Degree in Fine Arts in 1961. Elwyn was a freelance artist and the owner and operator of Mandeville Studio. He was also employed by Johnson Controls of Holland, MI. He was a member of gracespring Bible Church and had been an usher. He had been a member of Gull Lake Bible Church where he had been chairman of the board of elders and taught Sunday School. Elwyn enjoyed sailing, painting and building model airplanes. He enjoyed creating model train layouts with his children and grandchildren.

On May 11, 1963 in Wayland, he married Roberta Jane Witherell and she survives. Also, surviving are their five children, Lori Ann (Peter) Marr of West Liberty, OH, Todd Elwyn (Tracy) Mandeville of Dallas, TX, Kathy Marie (Jeff) Disher of Holland, MI, Deborah Jane (Jim) Cottrell of Yucca Valley, CA and Paul Carter (Nicole) Mandeville of Lincoln, NE; fourteen grandchildren, Andy and Phillip Marr, Ryan (Lindsey) Neece, Todd and Jordan Neece, Ellen, David, Daniel and Nathan Disher, Caleb and Isaac Cottrell and Megan, Bethany and Aubrey Mandeville; two great-grandchildren, Cylar and Harrison Neece and his brother, LeRoy (Ellie) Mandeville of St. Francisville, LA. Elwyn was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Gwendolyn Mandeville.

The Funeral Service to celebrate Elwyn's life will be held on Monday, July 11th at 11:00 a.m. at gracespring Bible Church, 8643 Gull Road, Richland, MI 49083 with Pastor Jeremy Heavey and Pastor Paul Deal, officiating. Interment will be held at Prairie Home Cemetery, Richland. Elwyn's family will greet friends on Sunday, July 10th from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at gracespring Bible Church. Memorial contributions in Elwyn's honor may be directed to the gracespring Bible Church.
