Cynthia Ann Stephens, age 56, of Battle Creek died Friday, January 2, 2015 at the Tidewell Hospice House in Arcadia, Florida. She was born in Lake Worth, Florida on December 26, 1958, the loving daughter of James Tarral and Barbara (Cullen) Stephens, Sr.. Cynthia graduated from Bellevue Schools and furthered her education at Kellogg Community College. She owned and operated "Dirty Dogs Done Dirt Cheap" Dog Grooming for many years and retired from the Kellogg Company in 2014, due to her failing health.
Cynthia is survived by her son, Ryan Burdette; her beautiful granddaughter whom she adored, Andria Burdette; her mother, Barbara Stephens; her sister, Terry Stephens; her niece, Stacy Green, and her nephew, Jason Green. She was sadly preceded in death by her son, Bryan James Burdette; her father, James Tarral Stephens Sr., and her brother, James Tarral Stephens Jr.
Cynthia collected Mickey Mouse and Red Ryder collectibles and enjoyed fishing, cooking, gambling, and going to the casino. She was known for the wonderful rock candy she made at Christmas time and loved spending time with her family, but most especially she loved spending time with her granddaughter, Andria.
The family will receive friends 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 13, 2015 at the Farley-Estes & Dowdle Funeral Home where funeral services to celebrate Cynthia's life will be held 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, January 14, 2015. Interment will follow at Assyria Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please consider making donations to a local hospice or animal shelter.
