Dale C. Sober

Dale C. Sober, age 87, of Battle Creek, MI, went to be with His Lord on Tuesday afternoon, September 11, 2018.

Dale, the son of Wayne H. and Marian I. (Kuehn) Sober was born in Fowlerville, MI on February 23, 1931 and was a 1949 graduate of Fowlerville High School. Self-employed most of his life, Dale owned & operated Sober's Auto Repair in Homer and Litchfield, Michigan. Dale was a member of Faith Baptist Church of Battle Creek and Gideons International. He enjoyed fishing, wood working, and studying his Bible.

Dale was united in marriage to Kathryn J. Waid at her family's home in Webberville on August 17, 1952; she preceded him in death on November 7, 2015. Dale then married Norma Braun in Battle Creek on October 29, 2016; she survives. He is also survived by his children, Karen S. Sober of Ft. Wayne, IN, James W. (Maricel) Sober of Battle Creek and Kathy (David) Owens of Richland, MI; his step-children, Fred and Diana Hendershot; three grandchildren, Derek (Karen) Owens, Katelyn (Jason) Tuinier and Kelsey (Matt) Rogers; his step-grandchildren, Shyane, Ryan and Shyanna Hendershot; nine great-grandchildren; his brothers, Furth (Vivian) Sober and Gary (Ruth) Sober; and several nieces and nephews. Dale was also preceded in death by his parents.

The Funeral Service to celebrate Dale's life will be held 10:00 a.m., Monday, September 17th at Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral & Cremation Care with Pastor Roy Henry of Faith Baptist Church, officiating. Dale's family will greet friends from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. Sunday, September 16th at the funeral home. Interment will follow at 2:30 p.m., Monday in Greenwood Cemetery, Fowlerville, MI. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Dale's honor may be directed to Gideons International, P.O. Box 1151, Battle Creek, MI 49016.
