Damon D. Banks

Damon D. Banks, age 71, of Battle Creek died Friday morning, November 1, 2013 at Bronson of Battle Creek, surrounded by the people who loved him. He was born in Battle Creek on October 3, 1942 and was the loving son of David D. & Eva Jean (Fuller) Banks and graduated from Battle Creek Central High School with the Class of 1962. Damon served as a journeyman plumber and member of the Plumbers & Pipefitters Union #333 for more than 40 years, serving with Hunter-Prell for more than 23 years.

Damon married Barbara J. "Barb" Davis in Battle Creek on June 6, 1964; she survives. He is also survived by his son, Morris Damon Banks of Battle Creek; his sister, Roberta (Chuck) Williams of Missouri, and several special cousins, nieces, nephews. He also leaves behind several friends and his best friend, Tom Sidnam and special friend, Margaret Stafford.

Damon was a very caring man who would always help anyone with anything. He enjoyed fishing, camping, taking pictures, bowling, and bowled in the State Bowling Tournament for 50 years. Damon will always be remembered for his willingness to help people and his friendly personality. He will be greatly missed by everyone!!

A visitation will be held 12:00 to 1:00 p.m., Monday, November 4, 2013 at the Farley-Estes & Dowdle Funeral Home where funeral services to celebrate Damon's life will be held at 1:00 p.m., Monday with Rev. Bill Fennema, officiating. Entombment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.
