Dan Taylor Clark passed away at his home on Sunday, June 7th. Dan was born on April 17, 1952 in Lexington, Kentucky to Bertie Kay (Adams) and Robert E Clark Sr. He moved to Battle Creek as a teenager and graduated from Battle Creek Central High School in 1970. His marriage to Denise Reed ended in divorce. Dan worked for several years as a nursing assistant and a housekeeper at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Battle Creek and for many years after as a cook in several area restaurants. He enjoyed music, having played guitar in his younger years and had an extensive record album collection.
Dan is survived by his sister Mary Ann Jones, brothers Robert E (Ruth) Clark Jr. and James (Arta) Clark. He is also survived by nieces Juliann Reynolds, Rachel Dillon, and Jamiee Clark, nephew Joshua Clark, several great nieces and great nephews, and good friend Ray Keeler who was a great help in his final weeks.
He was preceded in death by his parents, stepfather William Clark, brother-in-law Harold Jones, and long-time companion Dawn Kellogg.
A memorial service to celebrate Dan’s life will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, June 22, 2026 at the Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home. As a lover of cats, memorial donations may be made in Dan’s name to the Humane Society of South Central Michigan. Personal messages for the family may be placed at www.farleyestesdowdle.com.
