Daniel Thomas Eggleston was born on November 28th, 1952 to Rex Duwitt Eggleston and Margaret Lou (Mather) Eggleston.
A graduate of Harper Creek High School, Dan played his favorite sport of football until his graduation, setting several records for his position as a linebacker for the Beavers.
After graduation he went on to referee high school football for several years and enjoyed rooting on his Alma Mater, Harper Creek football teams and attended frequently.
Working his way up the kitchen manager at the Battle Creek Bill Knapps, Dan also held several other jobs, including a bartender and member at the Moose in Marshall, before settling into CelloFoil (later Exopack and Coveris) as a slitter operator
Dan was a rabid University of Michigan fan and a hater of all things Gray and Scarlett (Ohio State University). Collecting Michigan memorabilia and watching Wolverine football was one of the major highlights of his week.
Survived by his mother, Margaret Eggleston, sister, Susan Cook and her husband, Robert and their children, Daniel's nephews Jeremai and Timothy and nieces Kimberly and Jennifer along with two great-nephews and three great-nieces.
He was well-loved and will be missed greatly by all his family and friends. A pervasive joker, his sense of humor was spontaneous and could always be counted on even if it was only with a look that made you laugh.
He is preceded in death by his elder brother Terry and his father Rex.
A Memorial service will be held at Farley-Estes & Dowdle Funeral Home at 2:00 pm on March 14, 2015, with Pastor Thomas Townsend officiating of the Calvary Baptist Church . In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the charity of your choice.
