Daniel Lee Moon

Daniel Lee Moon, 75, passed away unexpectedly on April 24, 2023.

Dan was born to Kenneth Benjamin and Antoinette Loletta Moon on September 17^th, 1947 in Battle Creek. He graduated salutatorian from Bellevue High School in 1965. He served in the United States Army, served a tour of duty in the Vietnam War and was honorably discharged in 1969. He was employed at Clark Equipment until they closed. He then went to work for Manchester Plastics in Homer until he retired. He later went back to work for Securitas until retiring in September 2022. He was formerly married to Peggy Shepherd. 

Dan enjoyed playing cards, reading, hunting and most of all fishing with his son DJ, friend Michael and grandson Zayden. These fish were shared with his many friends and family at several fish fry gatherings. He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge. 

Dan is survived by his Daughter Diana Moon (Michael Cain), and sons, Daniel L. Moon, Jr., Robert Moon and Nick Purucker; six granddaughters, one grandson, three great-granddaughters and two nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Michael, granddaughter, Ashlyn and first wife, Peggy. 

A memorial service for Dan will be held 11:00 A.M. Thursday, May 4^th, 2023 at Baseline United Methodist Church, with family receiving friends an hour prior. Interment with full military honors will follow at Fort Custer National Cemetery. Donations in Dan’s memory may be made to Baseline United Methodist Church. (9617 E.
