Daniel Allen Perry

Daniel A. Perry, age 75, of Battle Creek, died Thursday evening, August 23, 2018. He was born in Battle Creek on October 23, 1942, the son of Lonnie L. and Ruby K. (Erskine) Perry. Daniel faithfully served his country as a member of the United States Army from1961 to 1963.

Daniel married the "Love of His Life" Virginia "Anne" (Parsons) Perry at the First United Methodist Church of Battle Creek on December 27, 1980; she survives. He is also survived by his children, Tina Johnson-Perry, Toni Perry, Scott (Mary) Grindol, Kathy (Tony) Hammock, and Robert Grindol; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces & nephews. Daniel was sadly preceded in death by his son, Lonnie D. Perry; his parents; his grandson, Christopher Grindol; and his sister, Janet Perry.

The "King of One Liners", Daniel was an avid story teller, spinning many a yarn for family and friends. He enjoyed traveling in his car, watching TV & movies; fixing & tinkering with things, fishing, and spending time with his wife, Anne and his dogs.

The graveside service with full military honors to celebrate Daniel's life will be held 2:30 p.m., Tuesday, August 28th at the Fort Custer National Cemetery, Augusta. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Humane Society of South Central Michigan. Arrangements by Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care.
