Daryl Ray Manning

April 23, 1957 — December 30, 2016

On December 30, 2016 Daryl Manning , age 59, decided that he was ready to go home with God and the love of his life, Betty. Although He left three very heartbroken children and four grandchildren that loved their Papa more than words can say, he is now in the arms of his true love, Betty. To be honest, there is no way to write this about Daryl and not mention the crazy love story of Daryl and Betty.

Daryl met the love of his life at a bar. Daryl was the rough biker guy that women tended to swarm to. But, when he met Betty, that was over. They were like gas and fire. He would always tell the story like this "We met on Friday and moved in together on Tuesday." Amazingly enough, 39 years, 3 kids, 4 grandchildren, and many adopted children later, their love was still strong and explosive as the day they met. Though, they never married, they were dedicated to each other through every high and low. Sadly enough, Betty passed away in March of 2016.

Survived by his 3 perfect (TO HIM ONLY) children Daryl "D.J." Manning Jr, Malinda "Sue" Manning, and Patricia "Trish" Manning. Daryl was the oldest of four children. Leaving behind his mother Eugenia Louise Cody of Portage, MI, his step-father Allen Horton of Warner Robbins, GA, and his siblings, Michael Manning of Kalamazoo, MI ;Kimberly Horton-Strawbridge of Kalamazoo, MI, and Aaron Cody of Huntsville, AL. But, the most important people to him were his grandchildren; Jasmine Marie Ehret, Johnny Lee Ehret, Monique Nevaeh Manning, and Janiece Dana Marie Parker.

Daryl was a very hard worker. Most everyone who knew him and could see him work, was always perplexed as to how a man could be so strong. Installing fences outside all year round never phased him. He was the life of the party and always had an infectious smile. He could make the most somber of people laugh till they cried. He always had little sayings that would make his family members chuckle, the most famous being "8 to 80 all the women love me." He was very well liked by everyone that knew him and loved dearly by his family. He will truly be missed.
