David F. LaFrance, 69, of Battle Creek, died Saturday, March 6, 2021 at Bronson Methodist Hospital.
He was born February 17,1952 in Port Huron, Ml. to Alfred LaFrance and Cora and Jack Wollen. David served in the U.S. Navy. He was employed by Grand Trunk Western Railroad as a Conductor. He retired in 1991 after he was injured. He was married December 20,1986 to Janine S. Luke, she survives. Also surviving are daughters, Danielle (Josh) Woody, Lauren LaFrance, Shelia (Brian) Carter, Korey Parker, and sons, David LaFrance II and George (Andrea) LaFrance; grandchildren; great grandchildren and a sister, Marsha Oates and brothers, James LaFrance and Steve Wollen. He was preceded in death by his parents, and sisters, Shelia and Pamela.
He was a member of American Legion Post 298 and was a past board member. He loved to collect Budweiser memorabilia and was an active wildlife enthusiast. He loved feeding the squirrels, deer, ducks and/or other wildlife in his yard. Often people would stop and check it out. Ryder, his grandson, loved to help Papa feed the animals and work with him in his workshop/garage. His favorite winter activity was plowing snow.
At this time, no date has been set for a memorial service. Memorials may be made to the National Wildlife Federation(nwf.org) or St. Peter Lutheran Church of Battle Creek, Ml.
