David C. "Dave" Rathburn of Battle Creek, MI
David, age 63, died Thursday evening, August 23, 2108 at Bronson Methodist Hospital, Kalamazoo, MI.
David was the son of Charles and Clara (Rugg) Rathburn, born in Coldwater, MI on November 28, 1954 and moved to this area in the early 1990's. He had been a bartender at the former Red Bird Lounge on West Michigan Avenue, Battle Creek. His favorite pastime was watching NASCAR racing.
David was united in marriage to the former, Gail J. Hayes on July 3, 1997 and she survives. Also surviving are his sisters, Roberta Rathburn, Rosanna Rathburn, Tammy Hocott, Katherine (Rick) McNally & Tange (Jim) Woodin, all of Battle Creek, a brother Todd (Joy) Rathburn of Florida and 12 nieces and nephews. David was preceded in death by his infant daughter, Christina Rathburn and his parents.
A graveside service will be held at North Sherwood Cemetery on Friday, August 31, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. The Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care, Battle Creek is assisting David's family.
