David Samuel Sullivan

David S. Sullivan, age 61, of Battle Creek passed away peacefully with his family at his side on Wednesday, January 29, 2014 at the Heartland Health Care Center. He was born in Savannah, Georgia on September 26, 1952. He moved to Battle Creek at the age of two and attended Battle Creek Public Schools. David faithfully served his country as a member of the United States Marine Corps from 1972 to 1976.

David is survived by his parents, William and Mildred (Goette) Sullivan; a son, David Jr.; a daughter, Tamara Patterson; three grandchildren, Sierra, Makayla and Tyler; a brother, John; sisters, Carol (Tom) Riste, Mary (Doug) Pennock, and several nieces & nephews. He was sadly preceded in death by his brother, Billy Sullivan in 2006.

A memorial service to celebrate David's life will be held 3:00 p.m., Monday, February 3, 2014 at the Farley-Estes & Dowdle Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m., Monday. In lieu of flowers, please consider making donations to the Trinity Lutheran Church or the Battle Creek V.A. Medical Center.
