David S. Ticknor, 80, of Hickory Corners, died June 18, 2022. David was born December 23, 1941 in Battle Creek to Jack and Betty (Sherriff) Ticknor. He graduated from W.K. Kellogg Agricultural High School (Part of the Gull Lake Community School System) in 1960 and then he graduated from the University of Arizona with his undergraduate degree in 1965 and was a proud member of the Sigma Nu Fraternity. David went on and received his graduate degree from the University of Virginia in 1979. He worked as a banker for PNC Bank until his retirement in 1999.
David married Carol Stech on February 12, 1965, who survives. David is also survived by their two daughters, Tracy (Kevin) Virta and Kristin (Sean) Walters; five grandchildren, Chapin (Benjamin) Ping, Trevor Virta and Olivia, Elle and Tess Walters; and a brother, William (Carolyn) Ticknor. He was preceded in death by his parents.
David loved sailing, boating and antique cars. He was on the Advisory Board for the Gilmore Car Museum, the board for the Constance Brown Hearing Center, President of The Rotary Club of Kalamazoo, treasurer of Rotary District #6360 and sat on the Board of Directors of the Sherriff-Goslin Company.
Cremation has taken place and a private, family only service was held at Yorkville Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Gull Lake Community Schools Foundation, the Gilmore Car Museum or the Loaves and Fishes.
