David Allen Watson, age 64, of Battle Creek passed away peacefully on Christmas morning, December 25, 2014 with his loving family at his side. David was born in Coldwater, Michigan on September 8, 1950, the loving son of James Allen and Norma Marie (Claar) Watson, and attended Union City Schools. He faithfully served his country as a member of the United States Army with 2 tours in Vietnam from 1968 to 1971, receiving the National Defense service medal and M16 Marksman & M14 Sharpshooter medals. David was employed for many years as a welder with Browns Welding in Albion, Christian Brothers Concrete and Yorozu Automotive.
David is survived by his children, Curtis Watson, Jr., Deanna (Dennis) Komarck, Brad (Michelle) Watson and Chad (Tiffany) Watson, all of Battle Creek; his grandchildren, Jacob, Nick Watson, Zachary, Logan Komarck, Amanda, Autumn Perkins, Kaden, Regan, Taylor and Tegan Watson. He was preceded in death by his father, James Allen Watson; his mother, Norma Marie Hoffman; and his step-father, Glen Hoffman.
David enjoyed hunting, fishing, painting, playing poker, and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
The family will receive friends 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., Monday, December 29, 2014 at the Farley-Estes & Dowdle Funeral Home where funeral services to celebrate David's life will be held 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 30, 2014 with Pastor Bill Cole officiating.
