Pastor David W. Yingling, 70 of Marshall, died at Bronson at Home Hospice Residence on Thursday, December 10, 2015.
David was born December 18, 1944 in Mansfield, Ohio to George and Margaret (Heifner) Yingling. He grew up in Mansfield, Ohio, where he graduated from high school. Dave received his Bachelor's Degree from Ohio State University and then completed five years in Seminary receiving his degree in Theology from the Methodist Theological School in Delaware, Ohio. David was a former United Methodist Pastor. His career in God's ministry included time at Milwood UMC in Kalamazoo, Edmore UMC in Edmore, Charlevoix/Greensky Hill Indian Mission and Charlevoix UMC in Charlevoix, Birchwood UMC and Maple UMC in Battle Creek.
He was formerly married to the late Cheryel Emery. David was also preceded in death by his second wife, Karen T. Chrisley; his parents; and a sister, Patricia Barrett. Surviving are his son, Jarrod (Keyla) Yingling of the Dominican Republic; daughter, Jodi (Jamie) Warner of Battle Creek; three grandchildren, Amber Warner, Lauren Yingling and Jacob Yingling; and two nephews, Jeff & John Barrett.
David was a retired pastor in the West Michigan Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church. He was a happy, cheerful, fun-loving person and loved singing and dancing. David was a very generous person and donated to numerous charities, especially Food Bank and Heifer Project International.
Friends will be received 10:00 a.m.-11:00 a.m. Monday at the Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care, where memorial services will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 14, 2015. Inurnment will be at Greensky Hill United Methodist Church in Charlevoix.
