Deborah Kay "Debbie" Haines, 66, of Battle Creek, passed away October 22, 2017. Debbie was born August 14, 1951, the daughter of John Richard Haines and Dorothy Stillwell (Hinman) Haines.
Debbie graduated from Battle Creek Central High School in 1969. She worked for many years with Federal Home Life Insurance Company, and transitioned to physicians insurance work for many years after that. She was currently employed at Bronson Battle Creek.
Debbie is survived by her brother, John Michael (Peggy) Haines of Battle Creek and many dear friends.
Debbie was preceded in death by her parents; grandmother, Jessie Hinman, who helped raise her; a sister, Robin Lee Haines and her longtime childhood friend, Peggy Francis.
Debbie loved the entertainment world and was a trivia expert on all movies both old and new. She won three Oscar contests and many movie tickets to a local theatre. Debbie enjoyed dancing and bowling. She was a member of the 600 Club and was an avid bowler. Her family and friends were her world and she loved to spend time with them. Many thanks to all her dear friends that helped her and spent time with her in the past year.
A memorial service to celebrate Debbie's life will be 12:00 p.m., Saturday, November 4, 2017 at the Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care. Visitation will be two hours prior to the service, starting at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be 12:00 p.m., Monday, November 6 at Oak Hill Cemetery.
