Debra L. Lima, 57, of Battle Creek, died Saturday, March 28, 2015 unexpectedly at home. She was born July 15, 1957 in Battle Creek, the daughter of Richard and Mary M. (Horsch) Barnes. Debra grew up in Jackson, MI and was a 1975 graduate of Jackson High School and a graduate of Select Beauty School in 1975. Debra was the hair stylist at NorthPointe Woods for many years and had formerly worked at Dare Products from 1986-2008.
On April 15, 1989 Debra L. Barnes was united in marriage to Steven A. Lima at 1st Presbyterian Church. In addition to her husband Steve, Debra is survived by a daughter, Amanda (Corey) Ellis and a granddaughter Madelyn Ellis all of Shelby Township. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Debra enjoyed gardening, watching birds in her yard, cross-stitch, baking and spending time with her family.
The family will receive friends from 2-4 & 6-8pm Tuesday, March 31, 2015 at the Farley-Estes & Dowdle Funeral Home105 Capital Ave NE, Battle Creek, MI 49017, where a Rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm.
A celebration of Debra's life will be held at the funeral home 10:00 am Wednesday, April 1, 2015 with the Very Rev. Fr. John D. Fleckenstein V.E officiating.
