Dewey M. Clark

Dewey M. Clark, age 89, of Battle Creek passed away Thursday evening, May 3, 2018 at the Oaklawn Hospital in Marshall. He was born in Lebanon, Virginia on July 6, 1928, the son of Harvey and Mable (Ball) Clark, and moved to Michigan in 1963.

Dewey was sadly preceded in death by his wife, Esther L. (Snyder) Clark on May 21, 2006. He is survived by his daughter, Pauline Smith of Battle Creek; his son, Ron (Jayne) Reed of Flint; five grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces & nephews. Dewey was also preceded in death by two sons, Danny & Dean Clark; a daughter, Judy Clark; a sister, and two brothers.

Dewey loved woodworking, and made many wonderful clocks and musical instruments until he was forced to stop due to Black Lung Disease from his time working in the coal mines. He also enjoyed watching and feeding birds.

The family will receive friends 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 8th at Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care where funeral services to celebrate Dewey's life will be held 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, May 9th. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please consider making donations to the St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.
