Diane Jean (Spitters) Wichman

Diane passed peacefully into the arms of her Lord on June 19, 2026. She was born to C. Frank and Elaine (Hybels) Spitters on September 8, 1947, in Kalamazoo, Michigan.

A graduate of Parchment High School she went on to attend Hope College after which she worked as a 911 dispatcher for 15 years in Kalamazoo. After moving to Gresham, Oregon, she became a real estate broker for 30 years. She retired and returned to Michigan where she lived in Battle Creek.

Diane had many hobbies and loved antiques. She had a talent for restoring antique furniture and for a time became an antique dealer prior to moving to Oregon. Diane had a passion for custom built dollhouses and the accompanying miniatures. She loved the outdoors and staying active enjoying snow skiing, hiking, and biking. She enjoyed remodeling and landscaping her homes, whether it was an old farmhouse or a more modern condo. Diane also devoted much of her time helping her neighbors.

Diane was preceded in death by her parents C. Frank and Elaine (Hybels) Spitters, sister-in-law Cecile Spitters, and a great niece Kinsley Markle. She is survived by her brothers Alan Spitters of Zeeland, Gerald (Deborah) Spitters of Richland; nephews and nieces Scott (Joanne) Spitters, Steve (Lisa) Spitters, Kristi (Dale) Kling, Brandi Markle and several great nieces and nephews.

A private family gathering will take place to celebrate her life.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of your choice.
