Dolores J. "Dody" Wensauer

Dolores J. "Dody" "Mamoo" Wensauer, age 85, of Battle Creek passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday morning, December 21, 2021. She was born in Battle Creek on June 23, 1936, the daughter of Donald and Lolita (Platz) Hart and graduated from Battle Creek Central High School. After graduating from High School, Dody worked for the Kellogg Co. from 1955 to 1965, before leaving the workforce to care for her family. Later in life, Dody worked for several years at J.C. Penney and Walmart.

Dody married the "Love of Her Life", Thomas "Tom" Wensauer at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Battle Creek on April 19, 1958; he sadly preceded her in death on February 18, 1996. She is survived by her children, Katrina Crandall, Matthew "Matt" (Patti), and David "Dave" Wensauer, all of Battle Creek; four grandchildren, Aric "AJ" (Alexandra), Thomas, Matthew, and Makenna Wensauer; a great-grandson, Nolan Wensauer; a sister, LaNeta Dougherty; and a brother-in-law, Brian Wensauer. Dody was also preceded in death by her parents, and a brother, Ron "Butch" Hart.

Dody loved butterflies and all types of animals, especially her pet cats & dogs. She also enjoyed reading, knitting blankets and scarves for those she loved, and was great at cooking and baking. Family was everything to Dody, and she truly loved attending her children's & grandchildren's sporting events and other family gatherings & events.

The family will receive friends 5:00 to 6:00 p.m., Monday, December 27th at Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care, Battle Creek. A private family service will be held at a later date.
