Doloris M. Goostrey

Doloris M. Goostrey, 88, of Augusta, died January 5, 2018. Doloris was born May 9, 1929 in Kalamazoo to Otis and Maude (Stratton) Holston. She graduated from Kalamazoo Central High School and shortly thereafter married Lewis Goostrey on September 3, 1949.

Doloris always devoted her time to her family. She enjoyed playing the piano and singing with her sister, Lula Jane. She was a great cook; one of her specialties was making pies. She also enjoyed crocheting, sewing and crafts. Doloris was a member of Augusta United Methodist Church and the Comstock Community Center, with whom she took many trips with. Doloris and Lewis wintered in Fort Myers, FL for many years and enjoyed the warm sunshine together.

Doloris is survived by her two children, Yvonne (Warren) Stevens of Kalamazoo and Paul (Georgia) Goostrey of Hastings; her grandchildren, Jennifer (Mark) Bunch, Eric (Dawn) Norman, Christopher Goostrey, Jared (Miranda) Goostrey and Brianne (Mike) Hare; great-grandchildren, Mark and Shelby Bunch, John, Robert and Ciera Norman, Riley Spyke, Zachary Goostrey, Arrianna Bartholomew, Kaiden Goostrey, Triton Rogers, Jett Goostrey, Rylyn Vincent, Harper Goostrey and Connor and Rory Hare and many nieces and nephews.

Doloris was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis, her 9 brothers and sisters and a great-grandson, Eric Norman.

Visitation will be Tuesday, January 9, 2018 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care, Augusta Chapel, where funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 10, officiated by Rev. Todd J. TerAvest. Interment will follow at Floral Lawn Memorial Gardens. Memorial donations may be made to Great Lakes Hospice.
