Donna Belle (Wright) Blue Fry, 87, a lifelong Battle Creek, Michigan resident died Saturday, March 9, 2019 at Bronson Battle Creek.
Donna was born September 28, 1931, in the old Nichols Hospital, in Battle Creek, Michigan the daughter of James Byron and Edna Aletha (Stookey) Wright. She was a 1949 graduate of Battle Creek Central High School. Donna was employed for 20 years in the payroll department and then worked another 15 ½ years processing work orders and damage claims for Consumers Power Company in Battle Creek, retiring in 1989.
Donna was preceded in death by her husband, Richard W. Blue in 1962, her longtime significant other, Charles Richard "Dick" Rudd in 1995 and her second husband, James F. Fry in 2015. Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, Douglas M. and Cyndie Blue and Ricky L. "Rick" and Brita Blue all of Battle Creek; four grandchildren, Erika (Nathan) Dupuis, Melissa (Justin) Livingston, Cory (Lori) Blue, Michael Blue and seven great-grandchildren. Donna was also preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Arthur Dale Wright.
Donna was a member of Chapel Hill United Methodist Church. She loved golfing. Donna was an officer and former president of the Ladies Golfers at Riverside Country Club, where she was a member for many years. She bowled in two leagues, one at Nottke's and one at Spring Lake Lanes. Donna was a member of the ABWA American Business Women Association. Donna also enjoyed sewing, crocheting and hooking rugs.
Friends will be received 10:00 a.m. â 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 27, 2019 at Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care, where memorial services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 27, 2019.
