Donna Marie Halbert

Donna Marie Halbert, age 71, of Battle Creek went Home to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday morning, June 10, 2018. She was born in Bristow, Oklahoma on May 26, 1947, and was the daughter of William R. and Pearl M. (Oxley) Alsbury.
Donna married the "Love of Her Life", Dean D. Halbert on July 27, 1974; he survives. She is also survived by her children, Michele (Patrick) Smith and Brian (Michelle) Halbert, both of Battle Creek; five grandchildren, Michael Davis, Zachary (Ashley) Davis, both of Battle Creek, Seth (Sarah)Davis of Florida, Allison Halbert and Zoe Halbert, both of Battle Creek; a great-granddaughter, Rynoa Davis; her brother, Lee (Pam) Alsbury of Assyria; and her sister, Beverly Ann Welch of Oklahoma. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Donna was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene for most of her life, where she served on various boards, and was the head of Junior Church and directed the Children's musicals and Christmas programs. She was an avid couponer, and enjoyed shopping, flower gardening, but most of all she loved spending time with her family and taking care of her grandchildren.
A memorial service to celebrate Donna's life will be held 3:00 p.m., Saturday, June 16, 2018 at the First Church of the Nazarene, 12866 Beadle Lake Road, Battle Creek, MI 49014 where the family will gather with friends from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please consider making donations to the church.
