Donna Jean Rozell, 83, of Battle Creek, Michigan died at Calhoun County Medical Care Facility on Tuesday, February 25, 2025.
Donna was born September 26, 1941, in Marshall, Michigan, the daughter of Allen Herbert and Virginia Maxine (Phelps) Wheeler. She grew up in the Gull Lake Area, graduated from Kellogg Agricultural School and earned her associate’s degree in accounting from Kellogg Community College. Donna was employed as an IRS Auditor and trained IRS students for many years until retiring from the IRS at the Battle Creek Federal Center (now known as the Hart–Dole–Inouye Federal Center).
Donna Jean Wheeler and Kenneth Charles Rozell, high school sweethearts, were united in marriage on June 4, 1960, in Battle Creek. Sadly, Donna was preceded in death by Ken her husband of 55 years on July 1, 2015. Surviving are their children, Mark (Tina) Rozell of Athens, Darla (Matthew) Tiffany of Augusta, Brian (Robyn) Rozell of Leland, NC; seven grandchildren, Ryan (Kait) Rozell, Kendra (Brad) Inman, Randelle (Rob) Largent, Kaylee (Logan) Boucher, Taylor Perkins, Samantha (Gabe) Jimenez, Briana (Kyle Smith) Rozell, 17 great-grandchildren; her sister, Patricia Emmert of Schoolcraft, her brother, Herbert (Vicki) Wheeler of Olivet and several cousins, nieces, nephews and their families. In addition to her husband, Donna was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Joyce Musselman and a brother-in-law, Larry Emmert.
Donna attended Wakeshma Community Church. She loved being with her family, baking and cooking for family gatherings, playing cards and doing crafts with family. She never sat still and was always on the go. Donna will be remembered for loving, caring, doting on her family and her never ending energy.
Friends will be received 5:00-7:00 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 27, 2025, at Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Cremation Preneed Care, where a funeral service to celebrate Donna’s life will be held 10:00 a.m. Friday, February 28, 2025. The service will be livestreamed and may be viewed at: https://vimeo.com/event/4949259 Committal and interment will follow at Floral Lawn Memorial Gardens.
