Donna Jean (Pagel) Walton

Donna Jean Walton, 63, of Battle Creek, Michigan died peacefully at home on Sunday, January 29, 2023.

Donna was born March 18, 1959 in Royal Oak, Michigan, the daughter of Kenneth and Mary (Flora) Pagel. She moved to Battle Creek as a child with her family. Donna was a 1977 graduate of Pennfield High School and attended Kellogg Community College. She was employed as the church secretary at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church for many years. Donna also ran a cleaning business earlier in life.

Donna married John Richard Walton October 17, 1992 at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church. Surviving are her husband, John; son, Dr. Joshua Dylan Moon of Kalamazoo; daughter, Christine Rebecca Walton of Battle Creek; and two grandchildren, Lucille Moon and Beckett Moon. She is also survived by siblings Ken Pagel, Kelly Morgan, and Rick Rivard. Donna was preceded in death by her parents, Ken and Mary.

Donna was a member of St. Paul Evangelical Church since she was a child. She loved spending time at home with her family and pets. She enjoyed gardening and working around her extensive yard. Donna avidly watched midday soap operas, especially The Young and The Restless. She will be remembered as a welcoming spirit who opened her home warmly to family and friends.

Friends will be received 3:00 – 5:00 p.m. Sunday, February 5, 2023 at Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Cremation Preneed Care; and from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. Monday at St. Paul Evangelical Church. A service to celebrate Donna's life will be held at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 6, 2023.
