Donna Mae Wilson

Donna Mae Wilson, age 70, of Battle Creek died peacefully on Wednesday evening, September 4, 2013. She was born in Battle Creek on May 13, 1943, the loving daughter of Glaydon and Maxine (Davis) Corwin. Donna graduated from Battle Creek Central where she was a Majorette for 3 years, participated in the Carousel Musical, Band Follies, was a member of the DofL and Future Nurses, and was runner-up for Miss Battle Creek in the first Miss Cereal City Competition. She was also a life-member of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority. Donna retired as a vision technician for the Calhoun County Health Department in 2004 after more than 15 years of faithful service. She had previously been employed as a long distance operator for the telephone company and worked for several area doctors for more than 23 years.

Donna married Jerry Wilson in Winter Park, Florida on December 24, 1992; he survives. She is also survived by her son, John C. (Roxanne) Rees of Arizona; her step-children, Marcal (Jim) Probst and Todd (Kathy) Wilson, both of Battle Creek; her sister, Sharon (Donald) Peterson of Virginia; her grandchildren, Drew Rees, John Rees, Jr., Dakota Wilson, Kaila Probst, Laiken Probst, Kourtney McGuire and Travis McGuire; her nieces, Rhonda (Mark) Fulcher and Rebecca Baggs, and her nephew, Andy (Ginny) Gnadt. Donna was preceded in death by her parents, Glaydon and Maxine Corwin.

Donna loved to create beautiful quilts with her basement girls; spent hours on unique cross-stitched wall-hangings, sayings and sweat-shirts; and knitting sweaters for her beloved pet Kobi. She also enjoyed clogging and spending time with her family.

A visitation will be held 2:00 to 4:00p.m., Sunday, September 8, 2013 at the Farley-Estes & Dowdle Funeral Home where funeral services to celebrate Donna's life will be held 10:00 a.m., Monday, September 9, 2013 with Chaplain Tim Smothers, officiating. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please consider making donations to the Calhoun County Medical Care Facility .
