Dora K. Niemann

February 9, 1965 — September 2, 2020

Dora Kay "Dori" (Richar) Niemann, age 55, a wonderful mother, daughter, sister,
step-mother, aunt and friend, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, September 2, 2020.

The world was made brighter on February 9,1965 when Dori was born to her parents, Henry and Arletta (Mead) Richar at Battle Creek Community Hospital. She graduated from Kellogg Community College.

Dori married Richard Niemann in 1996. On March 20, 1996, Dori and Richard brought their first daughter, Stephanie Rae into the world and four years later, on July 5, 2000, their daughter, Alexia Nicole. Dori loved her family endlessly. It was all about family for Dori...a big, crazy one at that!

Dori is survived by her mom, Arletta Richar; her daughters, Stephanie Rae and Alexia Nicole; her siblings, Allan Richar, Teresa Long, Gene Richar and Mark Richar; her partner, Richard Niemann; her step-children, Andrew Franklin, Jaime Lynne and Regan Elizabeth; her beloved dogs, Gibson, Gunther, and Ginger; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was sadly preceded in death by her father, Henry Richar; her grandparents, Oren & Frances Mead and Forrest & Ruth Richar:

Family gatherings reigned supreme in her world: the more family, the more fun, the more sun - the better the day. She taught others to be kind, even when you think you can't; to love, even when you struggle to do so; to accept everyone, no matter their story and most importantly, to hold your family closer than all else. Dori loved the beach laying out in the sun and gardening was her form of therapy, she loved planting, caring for and watching things grow.

Dori taught us about what it means to forgive, endure, persevere, move forward and never look back. Her story, was one that we will cherish for the rest of our days.

The family will receive friends 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 9th at Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care, Battle Creek. Graveside services to celebrate her life will be held at 12:00 noon on Thursday, September 10th at Newbre Cemetery (Corner of 9 Mile Road and B Drive North) Battle Creek. In lieu of flowers, donations made to the family, would be appreciated.
