Doris L. Reichert

Doris L. Reichert, 84, of Battle Creek, died April 2, 2022. Doris was born May 26, 1937 in Hillsdale, MI to Lee and Gertrude (Turner) Cook. She graduated high school and married Leonard Reichert June 24, 1956. Doris worked as a nurse's aide for many years at Community Hospital while her first two children were young and then went to Nursing School. She had to quit halfway through because of the birth of her third child. Her fourth child was born three years later.

Doris loved knitting and sewing. Along with her husband, Leonard, she was a long-time member of the Battle Creek Seventh-day Adventist Tabernacle

Doris is survived by her children, Bruce (Hilda) Reichert, Gale (George) Milovanov and Janelle (Stephen) Helner; 7 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and a brother, Jim (Ruth) Cook. Doris was preceded in death by her loving husband, Leonard; a daughter, Lisa Reichert; a brother, Paul Cook and a sister, Elizabeth Epperly.

Funeral services to celebrate Doris' life will be 1:00 p.m., Friday, April 8, 2022 at the Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be two hours prior to the service, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., also at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to Battle Creek Academy.
