Dorothy T. Humphreys

Dorothy T. Humphreys, 94, of Delton, died October 3, 2025, surrounded by her family. Dorothy was born August 4, 1931, in Dallas, PA, to John and Emma Thomas. She graduated high school and went on to marry Donald Humphreys on September 3, 1949. The couple eloped when they were 18 to Wilson, North Carolina, and enjoyed 61 years of marriage together.

Dot retired from Transamerica Insurance Group, where she was the manager of human resources. Dot and Don loved to travel together and enjoyed many trips and cruises all over the world. She also enjoyed shopping and watching her favorite TV shows, especially Blue Bloods. But most of all, Dorothy cherished time spent with her family. She was a long-time member of the First Presbyterian Church of Richland.

Dorothy is survived by her 5 children, Joyce (Gary) Gibson, Cindy (Dave) Chamberlin, Val (Larry) Osborne, Derek (Renee) Humphreys, and Jill (Rick) Steele, 16 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Donald and her 5 siblings.

The family would like to thank the staff at Reflections Memory Care and Centrica Care Hospice for their loving and compassionate care. As per Dorothy’s request, cremation has taken place. There will be a Celebration of Life service held at the First Presbyterian Church in Richland with Rev. Cal Nevenzel officiating on Friday, October 24, 2025, at 2 pm, with a dessert buffet to follow in Mom’s honor. Donations may be made to the Donald and Dorothy Humphreys Memorial Scholarship through the Barry Community Foundation. Arrangements by the Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care.
