Dr. Lawrence E. Youse, DDS

Dr. Lawrence E. “Larry” Youse, DDS, age 90 of Richland, went to be with his Lord & Savior on Monday afternoon, January 1, 2024.  He was born in Niles, Michigan on July 18, 1933, the son of Albert Lee and Neva E. (Cropsey) Youse.  Larry graduated from Jackson High School in 1951 and The University of Michigan Dental School in 1958.  He then provided dental services in the United States Navy for more than 15 years. Larry owned & operated his own dental practice for more than 45 years, and continued to serve his patients at Comstock Dentistry for several more years.

Larry married Phyllis A. Junker in Bronson, Michigan on February 6, 1971.  He is survived by his loving wife of nearly 53 years, Phyllis; his daughters, Anne (Paul) Layendecker, Kimberly (Mark) Jenkins, and Emily Greene; his son, Alan (Mary) Youse; nine grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; a brother, Rex Jacob Youse; and several nieces & nephews.

Larry was an avid University of Michigan fan, loved to fly, and was a private pilot for more than 40 years. Larry was an active member of the Redemption Lutheran Church and Lakeview Urbandale Kiwanis Club, and also enjoyed playing tennis, landscaping, and spending time with his family.

Larry’s family will receive friends 12:00 to 1:00 p.m., Monday, January 8, 2024 at the Redemption Lutheran Church 2450 W. Michigan Ave., Battle Creek, MI 49037 where a Celebration of Larry’s Life will begin at 1:00 p.m.  The service was recorded and may be viewed below or by visiting the church's facebook or youtube pages.  Inurnment will be held privately at Memorial Park Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, please consider making donations to the church or the Lakeview Urbandale Kiwanis Club.  Personal messages for the family and favorite memories of Larry may be placed at www.farleyestesdowdle.com.
