Durrell Norman Dolph I, 92, of Battle Creek, Michigan passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loved ones.
Durrell was preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis Conklin Dolph; his father, Norman Justice Dolph; his mother, Ruby Gifford Dolph; his three siblings, Joyce Hill, Barbara Bradford, and Marion DeBois.
Durrell is survived by his children, Phyllis (David) Dishman, Mary (Russell) McJunkin, Durrell (Elizabeth) Dolph; his grandchildren David C. (Heidi) Dishman, Norman (Mindy) Dishman, Nicole (Michael) Rallo, Christopher (Valerie) Camacho, Mackenzi Semans, Madison Semans, Nicholas (Lindsay) Dolph; eight great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Durrell worked for the Eaton Corporation and retired from the City of Battle Creek Parks Department.
Durrell was a long-time member of the Eagles Lodge, PNA, and the American Legion.
Durrell served in the Korean War from 1952-1953.
Durrell was an avid lover of his home teams including the Detroit Tigers, Detroit Lions, and the University of Michigan Football.
Durrell loved to fish and he had many friends throughout the years that he enjoyed socializing with.
Memorial services will be held at the Fort Custer National Cemetery, Friday, May 24, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. with a celebration of life to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Post 465 American Legion. Personal messages for Durrell’s family may be shared at www.farleyestesdowdle.com.
