Edward James Carden Gibson, 39, of Battle Creek was stricken at home and died unexpectedly on Wednesday, February 10, 2021.
Edward was born August 3, 1981 in Tucson, Arizona the son of Scott White and Kim (Gibson) McCann. He was adopted and raised by Billie Lee and June (Carden) Gibson. He attended Battle Creek Central High School and earned his GED Operation Grad. Prior to COVID-19, Edward was employed as a meat processor at Clemens Food Group in Coldwater.
Edward married Angie Renea Correnti on July 18, 2008. Surviving are his wife, Angie; his Mum June Gibson, Mom Kim McCann; seven children, Alexia (Bailey) Michielsen of Sturgis, Hope Gibson, Emily Gibson, Zachary Gibson, Haylee Gibson, Sarah Gibson and Autumn Gibson all of Battle Creek; one granddaughter, Sofia Michielsen; six siblings, Debbie Gibson, James Gibson, Leeann Gibson-Mason, Tabitha (William) Gibson, Jonathan Case and Alexander Gibson all of Battle Creek; and numerous, nieces, nephews, cousins and their families. Edward was preceded in death by his father, Billie Lee Gibson.
Edward's life was all about his family. His favorite pastimes were the outdoors, camping, fishing, hunting and swimming with family and friends. He was easy going, loved joking around, grilling and cooking-out. He loved taking his wife, kids and family to zoos all over the place. He was very involved with his family, loved talking to people and was a Detroit Lions and U of M football fan. His Dad and brother-in-law/best friend, William spent a lot of time fishing together.
Friends will be received 5:00-7:00 p.m. Thursday, February 18, 2021 at Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care, 105 Capital Avenue N.E., Battle Creek, MI 49017. During the visitation, some personal remembrances will be offered by family and friends
