Edwin L. Piercy, 64 passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 22, 2022 with both of his children by his side. He was born on March 2, 1958 to his loving mother, Violet Cross.
Edwin was a decorated Army Veteran with 30 years of honorable service. He mobilized to Iraq in 2004 with the 1073rd Maintenance Company as a Readiness NCO in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and retired in 2006. He was honored to serve his country with his son during Operation Iraqi Freedom. The two met at Camp Taji, Iraq during a maintenance mission assigned to him. In his life he enjoyed spending time with his family; especially during his children's and grandchild's sporting events (cross country, wrestling, swimming, and track and field). He also loved to do family 5K runs/walks like the Cheetah Chase and Danish Festival. His and his daughters' love of classic rock allowed them both fond memories of concerts together. Throughout his life, he encouraged and taught his children and grandchild to strive for success and to be a kind person with integrity. He demonstrated these traits to his family by earning his Bachelor's degree in accounting after his retirement and volunteering with the VA. He was a very giving individual who volunteered to help veterans through peer support and was a participant in the honor guard. He will be missed by those who knew him.
Edwin is survived by his mother, Violet Cross; his son, Benjamin (Sathya) Piercy; his daughter, Laura (Eric) Kuzmick and his grandson, Zachary Piercy. He is preceded in death by his great grandparents, Raymond (Viola) Herroon and his brother, Rocky Piercy.
