Efterpi "Eva" Sevastopoulos

Efterpi “Eva” Sevastopoulos passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones December 8, 2024. 

Eva was born in Sklithro Greece on March 17, 1933 to Theodore and Theodota Keratithis. She and her family immigrated to the United States in 1974. She married Emmanuel Sevastopoulos on January 18, 1958 who preceded her in death along with her parents, granddaughter Eva Vaughn and daughter-in-law Lori Seagers. 

She is survived by her three children Theodota Vaughn, Kosta (Kim) Sevastopoulos and Theodore Sevastopoulos. Yia Yia is also survived by her grandchildren Ellie (Scott) Batterson, Emmanuel and Kosta Sevastopoulos, Brandon Tungate, Colin Kovach, Kayla Sevastopoulos Acevedo and great grandchildren Emmanuel, Dorothy, Corrine, Eva and Eli. Eva is also survived by a brother George Keratithis of Toronto, Canada. 

Eva was a great cook who enjoyed cooking and was owner of the Top Hat and Corner Café restaurants. Eva had a generous spirit and would help anyone in need. She loved spending time with her family, especially her great grandchildren. She enjoyed watching old Greek movies, going to the casino and taking trips.  

Family will receive friends for visitation at Saints Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church, 1020 W. Goguac St., Battle Creek, MI Thursday, December 12, 2024 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. followed by panikhida at 6:00 p.m. Funeral services will take place the following day, Friday, December 13, 11:00 a.m. at the church, following to her place of rest at Memorial Park Cemetery.
